Compositions & Arrangements
Laurie A. Jarski has composed music ranging from solo to orchestral, electronic & film. LAJ has created several arrangements for the purpose of performance, student accompaniments, and for gigs. LAJ’s music connects the cerebral to the emotional, via textural colors and a dynamic rhythmic palette. An exploration of cross-genre instrumentation, and a variety of musical styles holds this composer’s attention.
Cello & guitar are Laurie A. Jarski’s primary performance vehicles of expression. However, she is quite comfortable performing on a variety of string instruments, including mandolin, banjo (Earl Scruggs & Clawhammer), ukulele, and mountain dulcimer. Not often mentioned, but improvisation, or ‘on the spot composing’ is a feature attribute for this performer.
Laurie A. Jarski has been teaching lessons for 40 years. Teaching has been her primary calling, and is a giving life-force, emanating outward to the love of sharing the joy of expressing and creating musical possibilities for others. LAJ is offering On-Site, Virtual (FaceTime & Zoom) private lessons for violin, viola, cello, bass, guitar (most styles, including finger style, multiple tunings), el. bass, ukulele, mandolin, banjo (Earl Scruggs & Claw Hammer), mountain dulcimer, theory, songwriting & composition.

Film & Media Composition
Really enjoyed a recent project composing, and creating music to film. I just completed composing & recorded all of the layers of instrumentation, ranging from orchestral strings, banjo (to mimic the sitar), guitar, and Animoog Synthesizer, on Lakshmi, a 12 minute documentary. This project proved creatively exhilarating and liberating, in spite of the seemingly defined timeline.
